Residence route: visa needed

A US company does not by itself give you the right to live or work in the US. The main routes are the E-2 treaty investor visa (only for citizens of treaty countries; Nigeria is not one), the L-1 visa for managers of an established foreign business, and the EB-5 investor green card.

FAQ

USA Company Formation Questions

Can a non-resident form a US LLC?

Yes. You can form and own a US LLC or corporation without a US visa, address or Social Security number. You need a registered agent in the state, which we provide.

Which state should I choose?

Wyoming suits most small online businesses thanks to low fees and simple rules. Delaware is the standard for companies that plan to raise investment. If you will have staff or an office in another state, that state usually matters more.

How is a foreign-owned LLC taxed?

A single-member LLC is treated as a disregarded entity by default, and US tax depends on whether the income is connected with a US trade or business. Foreign-owned single-member LLCs must file an information return (Form 5472) every year. We connect you with a US accountant.

Do I need to file a beneficial ownership (BOI) report?

Since March 2025, companies formed in the US are exempt from the federal beneficial ownership report. It now applies mainly to foreign companies registered to do business in a US state.
