Moving to the UK With Your Company
Residence route: visa neededOwning a UK company does not by itself give you the right to live or work in the UK. The main routes for founders are the Innovator Founder visa, the Skilled Worker visa through a company with a sponsor licence, and the Global Talent visa.
| Route | Who it suits | Family can join |
|---|---|---|
| Innovator Founder visa | Founders with an innovative, scalable business endorsed by an approved body | Yes |
| Skilled Worker visa | People employed by a UK company that holds a Home Office sponsor licence | Yes |
| Global Talent visa | Recognised leaders or emerging leaders in their field | Yes |
Visa rules change often. We check your eligibility before you pay any government fee, and quote visa work separately from company formation.

United Kingdom Company Formation Questions
Do I need to live in the UK to own a UK company?
No. Non-residents can own and direct a UK limited company. You need a UK registered office address, which we provide, and every director must verify their identity with Companies House.
How much tax does a small UK company pay?
Corporation tax is 19% on profits up to £50,000 and 25% above £250,000, with marginal relief in between. VAT registration is required once taxable turnover passes £90,000 a year.
Can I open a UK business bank account from abroad?
Often yes, through business accounts at digital banks and payment institutions. Traditional high-street banks usually expect a UK connection. We recommend options that fit your profile.
What does Companies House charge to register a company?
The government fee for online incorporation is £100 from 1 February 2026. Our service fee is quoted separately after a free consultation.
